Frequently Asked Questions

The program works on a level system. Each level consists of a particular length of time, and each level has different requirements the student will need to fulfill before eligibility to advance to the next level.

Upon entry into the program, each student is assigned a mentor to provide individual one-on-one guidance and mentoring determined by that student’s particular needs. The proven cure for life-controlling problems is based on the embracing of Biblical principles to spiritually improve the quality of his character. Students also meet with the Life Skills Coaches to work through the student’s individual issues through personal growth plan throughout the duration of the program, as well as in group sessions during the week. The Program Director oversees each student’s overall needs and works with family, student, and staff to see that restoration is brought to both the student and family.

Parents are encouraged to visit before placing their boy here. Parents must check in when on campus, depending on his level and status in the program. After the initial levels, students are allowed a monthly pass. The time of that pass is dependent upon the student’s current level and progress in the program.

Each student is assigned a mentor upon entering the program. All inquiries relating to the student will be handled by his mentor. If you have an immediate question concerning your student, feel free to contact our main office during normal business hours or email the Program Director.

Absolutely! The students attend our privately accredited school, The Cross Christian Academy. Students also participate in both Personal and Group Studies for a New Life. The classes’ curriculum helps to establish a foundation of Biblical knowledge leading to spiritual growth. The faith- structured classes also develop the main goal of the program: a life-changing, continually growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

After 4 weeks in the program, the boy will be allowed two ten-minute phone calls, and one twenty-minute phone call each week (days for calls are assigned upon admission into the program). Boys will only be allowed to receive from individuals on his phone and mail authorization list, based on his current level privileges. Phone/mail usage is a privilege and will be monitored by our staff. Students are allowed mail upon entry into the program according to level privileges and authorization list.

What Our STUDENTS Say

“We were broken hearted to see our son making destructive choices in life. He unfortunately had a lot of bad experiences in life that contributed to him trying to find a sense of belonging anywhere he could. We wanted so much more for him and started searching for a place like Oklahoma Teen Challenge. Through discipline and Christian teachings, as well as community service and HS athletic programs, our son is finding real purpose in life and once again has pride in himself and is seeking a relationship with Christ. Praise God!”

Gary V

“Your staff is divinely appointed by God to do this amazing job of renewing boys and families! We felt His presence from the time we stepped foot on the campus until we left. That hasn’t changed since we came home and left our boy. We know beyond a shadow of a doubt God has chosen this place for our boy to heal and become whole again! Thank you so much Brush Creek for hope and healing back to what God has designed him to be!”

Melanie M

“I am so thankful for Brush Creek. Before coming to Brush Creek, my son was taking medication for ADHD, social anxiety and depression. He had started using drugs and left home. Now, he is off all of the medications and doing wonderful! He has no desire to go back to his old lifestyle. It’s amazing!”

Julie H

“One day soon I hope to give back to the program and people who helped save my life, Brush Creek. I am proud to say I want to go back and work there and give hope to the teens there, just like there were staff there to give me hope. I want to help people and someday I hope that God will open up the doors to allow me to do so. For now, all I can do is pray for that door to be opened.”

Steven S

Former Student

“My life now has changed a lot from attending Brush Creek. I know my life is headed down the right path now. I believe that God will be with me here on out.”
