What Is Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)?

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is a behavior pattern seen as the inability to focus, with or without agitated behavior getting in the way of his ability to learn and get along.  This can interfere with his capacity to finish his work, and function successfully in society.

Exact cause of ADD (also known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD) is unknown but studies discuss links with diet, genetics and environment.

Brush Creek Academy – Offering a Unique Approach for your Son With Attention Deficit Disorder.

Attention Deficit Disorder is one of the most frequently diagnosed disorders among young people today. As certain other conditions (depression, anxiety, sleep or thyroid problems) can closely imitate ADHD-like behaviors it is imperative to identify this Disorder properly.

Because of the great level of distraction with ADD (often leading to poor academic performance and low self-esteem), a large percentage of boys with it will fail to finish high school. Your boy can certainly learn strategies for success even though he may not completely outgrow his symptoms.  There’s no reason for Attention Deficit Disorder to control your son’s life!

Brush Creek Academy – Raising Your Son’s Vision to See Greater Possibilities in Life.

Brush Creek Youth Ranch is a 915-acre working ranch in beautiful Northeastern Oklahoma. Our facility is a 12-15 month residential program accredited with Teen Challenge USA. The Cross Christian Academy is our private, accredited, year round school that the boys attend while at Brush Creek. Our program offers a very structured environment to help foster growth in each of our student’s lives. We use a level system to help teach the students appreciation, gratitude, responsibility, submission to authority, self-control, leadership, time-management, and a strong work ethic. The first levels are very controlled but as the students improve and progress, they are awarded higher levels. The higher levels allow for more privileges, freedom, and responsibilities.

During a student’s stay at Brush Creek, each student will have the opportunity to learn various vocational skills such as welding, basic carpentry, plumbing, lawn care, fence repair & building, livestock care, and other ranch duties. The students are also involved with various community service projects. This aspect of the program is used to assist the students in building a strong work ethic to enable them to be successful in their communities, families, and future careers.

Should you need help finding therapeutic schools, Christian boarding schools, military schools, boarding schools or therapeutic boarding schools, please let us know. This boarding school can help your teenage boy who is defiant, breaking laws, or otherwise behaving badly. This sort of acting out is common among teenagers troubled with emotional issues or trauma. Such boys may appear to be arrogant and angry, and simply will not listen to authority figures. If your teen is combative and disobedient, a therapeutic boarding school like this one may be the best solution. Many rebellious teenagers are resistant and antagonistic to change, but their malicious or naughty behavior can be corrected, just as their backsliding ways and unmanageable demeanor. Acting as incorrigible rebels, such disorderly boys intentionally act out of line, lacking self-control. Some unruly teens can become angry and hostile, making trouble for both them and their family. Seeking help for your wayward, noncompliant teenager can be a difficult decision, but the sooner their contentious and insubordinate behavior and transgressions can be curbed, the less lifelong damage will be done. Insolent teens who will not mind their parents and misbehave will be changed here. Wild, undisciplined teenage behavior will become respectful and thoughtful behaviors, and bad-tempered teens will become productive members of society, no matter how far they have gone astray.
