Avoidant Personality Disorder causes boys to have excessive social anxiety and withdrawal. Here's how our therapeutic boarding program can help your teen. – homes for boys and residential schools for troubled teens.

About Avoidant Personality Disorder:

Does your son suffer from low self-confidence, with the belief that his peers find him uninteresting and unappealing, socially inept?  If so, he may be suffering from Avoidant Personality Disorder.  We can help your boy as he deals with long-standing feelings of inadequacy, and great sensitivity to what others think about him. Feelings such as these might lead to his being shy, staying away from activities in which he’d need to interact with others, afraid of scorn.

Brush Creek – How We Can Handle Your Son with Avoidant Personality Disorder.

While commonly diagnosed, there is not unanimously agreed-upon treatment.  Cognitive behavioral therapy and group therapy are often used, and social skills guidance might be also be helpful.

The last thing you want is for Avoidant Personality Disorder to continue to control your teen’s life, and our key to success will be to successfully confront the (negative) beliefs he holds about himself!

It’s critical that your boy be properly diagnosed, with a treatment method that can enable him to thrive, especially if not making headway in his traditional school setting.  Our unique program might be just the thing to ensure his progress.

Brush Creek – When You Want Your Good Son Back, with Clear Thinking and Positive Pursuits.

Brush Creek is a 915-acre working ranch in beautiful Northeastern Oklahoma. Our facility is a 12-15 month residential program accredited with Teen Challenge USA. The Cross Christian Academy is our private, accredited, year round school that the boys attend while at Brush Creek. Our program offers a very structured environment to help foster growth in each of our student’s lives. We use a level system to help teach the students appreciation, gratitude, responsibility, submission to authority, self-control, leadership, time-management, and a strong work ethic. The first levels are very controlled but as the students improve and progress, they are awarded higher levels. The higher levels allow for more privileges, freedom, and responsibilities.

During a student’s stay at Brush Creek, each student will have the opportunity to learn various vocational skills such as welding, basic carpentry, plumbing, lawn care, fence repair & building, livestock care, and other ranch duties. The students are also involved with various community service projects. This aspect of the program is used to assist the students in building a strong work ethic to enable them to be successful in their communities, families, and future careers.

Your son will be presented with new challenges until ultimately he is ready to return home, able to once again enjoy family and friends. If you’ve reached your wits’ end with your out-of-control boy, call us at (918) 435-8206. Brush Creek may be exactly what you need to succeed as a parent when your son’s condition causes unacceptable behavior and family disruption. You’ll see him recover his lost academic standing, raise his vision to see the greater possibilities in life and reach new and loftier goals.

We can also help you in your search for Christian military schools, therapeutic schools, or programs for troubled teens. Homes for troubled teens and boarding schools for teens don’t typically offer teen counseling and therapy, but we do. A top therapeutic school, Brush Creek Academy may also be referred to as a “school for troubled teens”. Troubled teen schools and residential treatment programs for teens are often quite costly, but this one of few residential treatment centers and residential schools for teens that is affordable. Brush Creek Academy is an all-boy school that provides troubled pre-teen and teenage boys with counseling and adolescent therapy. It is more relational and helpful long-term than boot camps and military schools. The Christian therapeutic residential school and home for troubled boys serves at-risk teen boys.
