Brush Creek Academy understands that you want to find help now for your teen boy suffering from Reactive Attachment Disorder, and we’re here to help. Please call us at (918) 435-8206 to learn more about our effective program, and therapies.
We can help your teen boy if he suffers from Reactive Attachment Disorder (or RAD), a rare but serious condition that leaves him unable to form a healthy emotional attachment with the mother (or primary caregiver). Reliable care of a baby’s physical and emotional needs enables them to learn to bond, and devoid of that (i.e.: from neglect, temporary foster care, adoption), they may have difficulty establishing any close bonds.
There are two types of RAD (sometimes also known as Reactive Attachment Disorder). One may find a teen boy detached, unemotional, inhibited or introverted. With the other kind he might be unbecomingly familiar or affectionate with complete strangers.
Brush Creek Helps Teen Boys Heal Reactive Attachment Disorders
Many children who were adopted, or neglected in foster care exhibit attachment disorders in their teenage years. A stable and sustaining environment is necessary for your teen to learn to create healthy attachments and trusting relationships. Our emphasis on family therapy is also critically important in the treatment of Reactive Attachment Disorder, encouraging communication between you and your son. By teaching you (parenting) skills to help heal the disorder, your teen can avoid developing mounting social and behavioral issues later in life and, rather, go on to enjoy healthy relationships with you and with others.
Brush Creek – Raising Your Son’s Vision to See Greater Possibilities in Life Brush Creek is a 915-acre working ranch in beautiful Northeastern Oklahoma. Our facility is a 12-15 month residential program accredited with Teen Challenge USA. The Cross Christian Academy is our private, accredited, year round school that the boys attend while at Brush Creek. Our program offers a very structured environment to help foster growth in each of our student’s lives. We use a level system to help teach the students appreciation, gratitude, responsibility, submission to authority, self-control, leadership, time-management, and a strong work ethic. The first levels are very controlled but as the students improve and progress, they are awarded higher levels. The higher levels allow for more privileges, freedom, and responsibilities. During a student’s stay at Brush Creek, each student will have the opportunity to learn various vocational skills such as welding, basic carpentry, plumbing, lawn care, fence repair & building, livestock care, and other ranch duties. The students are also involved with various community service projects. This aspect of the program is used to assist the students in building a strong work ethic to enable them to be successful in their communities, families, and future careers. We supply a strong sense of responsibility, self-discipline techniques and a renewed love for learning. Our staff of teachers, counselors and wranglers all have an understanding of the medical and psychological conditions that contribute to unacceptable behavior; they know your boy must remain a distinct individual and solutions must be tailor-made for his success. Brush Creek may be just what you need if you want your good son back, with clear thinking and positive pursuits. Call us at (918) 435-8206 so we can help your son be better prepared to meet life’s challenges and become a hard-working, productive young man.
