Excellent Accredited Academics
at Brush Creek Academy
THE CROSS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
Academics at Our Accredited Boarding School
Have you asked other academies if their credits are sure to transfer back to his home school or to college? The Cross Christian Academy is our own private school that BC students attend. When your son attends here, he will receive a high-quality education that holds the same accreditation as most local high schools. The school is accredited by Cognia, as well as International Christian Accrediting Association and recognized as accredited by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. We are listed as a member of Oklahoma Private School Accrediting Commission. This ensures that the transfer of credits back to his public or private school is without question.
The coursework your child will complete is fully accredited, accepted in all 50 states, and all our coursework has been approved by local school districts. Many of our students receive their high school diplomas while enrolled in Brush Creek. Many similar academies cannot guarantee their academic credits will transfer which you should consider when choosing a boarding school.
If your son graduates from our high school, he will be able to attend the college or university of his choice without concern about his diploma and transcript being accepted. Other similar programs utilize a “dual enrollment” so the student can be enrolled with another agency that provides the actual accredited curriculum. Our school has gone through the rigorous accrediting process that is required to make sure that our school is fully accredited and meets the national standards that are required of accredited schools.
All credits received from our school are fully transferable. With the backing of our accrediting agency and the recognition of the Oklahoma State Board of Education, transferring credits is seamless.
Our school’s study program allows for an education plan designed specifically for your boy’s needs. We are purposely designed for a smaller student body, 20 students or less. We focus on grades 7-12. Your son’s education plan will be designed to make sure that he is challenged to complete the courses needed to get back on track academically if needed. Goals are set on a daily basis so that there is immediate feedback to the student to know how he is progressing. The student will have every opportunity for success in school if they are willing to put forth the effort. This success usually takes a period of time for the student to accept being in a program.
PURPOSE STATEMENT: The Cross Christian Academy provides relevant opportunities for at-risk students in the therapeutic boarding school setting of Teen Challenge of Oklahoma to overcome life-controlling issues and realize their full academic potential, bridging the transition to traditional classroom success and/or college and career readiness.
MISSION STATEMENT: The Cross Christian Academy’s mission is to minister to the whole student and bring healing to families through Christ-centered education and recovery programming.

Transferable Credits
All credits received from our school are fully transferable. With the backing of our accrediting agency and the recognition of the Oklahoma State Board of Education, transferring credits is a seamless process.
Sometimes public schools are concerned about taking credits from a Teen Challenge program. Because our accreditation is the same one as most public schools, there is never an issue with accepting credits, transcripts, or diplomas.

Academic Achievement
Our academic program receives high priority at Brush Creek from day one on. We operate The Cross Christian Academy, our fully accredited educational program, on a year-round schedule. A personalized education plan is developed for each student, upon which we evaluate and give access to individual progress on a regular basis. We require our students to demonstrate mastery, not just a passing grade before they advance in any subject. So, our teachers are often involved to help strengthen knowledge when testing shows a deficit in understanding. In addition to core subjects, students may also work toward repairing past grades (improving their past grade point average) and recovering lost credits, as a second chance to put their educational goals in order.
In 2017, ACT rated our school (The Cross Christian Academy, Disney, OK) performance 30% higher than the average of other schools in Oklahoma in Math, Reading, and English.
