Here’s How Reactive Attachment Disorder Looks

There are two types of Reactive Attachment Disorder (or RAD).  One may find your son aloof, isolated, unemotional, or withdrawn.  With the other kind he might act improperly or be inappropriately affectionate with complete strangers.

teen copyReactive Attachment Disorder (also known as Radical Attachment Disorder) is a rare but serious condition in which a child has been unable to form a healthy emotional attachment with mother (or primary caregiver).  A baby learns to bond when his physical and emotional needs are reliably addressed.  Lacking that consistent care (possibly due to adoption or temporary foster care situations), he may struggle to establish any close bonds.

Brush Creek Academy– Offering a Unique Approach for your Son With Reactive Attachment Disorder.

We can help your boy if he struggles with RAD, by providing him with the nurturing and secure environment of Brush Creek Academy that will enable him to learn to create healthy connections.

Family therapy may be a critical part of his treatment plan, encouraging your deeper communication with him.  By teaching you (parenting) skills that can help heal his Disorder, he can avoid developing deeper social and behavioral issues later in life, and rather go on to enjoy healthy relationships with you and with others.

Brush Creek Academy – Raising Your Son’s Vision to See Greater Possibilities in Life.

Brush Creek Youth Ranch is a 915-acre working ranch in beautiful Northeastern Oklahoma. Our facility is a 12-15 month residential program accredited with Teen Challenge USA. The Cross Christian Academy is our private, accredited, year round school that the boys attend while at Brush Creek. Our program offers a very structured environment to help foster growth in each of our student’s lives. We use a level system to help teach the students appreciation, gratitude, responsibility, submission to authority, self-control, leadership, time-management, and a strong work ethic. The first levels are very controlled but as the students improve and progress, they are awarded higher levels. The higher levels allow for more privileges, freedom, and responsibilities.

Should you need help finding therapeutic boys homes, military schools for girls, teen boarding schools, or teen boarding schools, please let us know. This boarding school can help your teenage boy who is defiant, breaking laws, or otherwise behaving badly. This sort of acting out is common among teenagers troubled with emotional issues or trauma. Such boys may appear to be arrogant and angry, and simply will not listen to authority figures. If your teen is combative and disobedient, a therapeutic boarding school like this one may be the best solution. Many rebellious teenagers are resistant and antagonistic to change, but their malicious or naughty behavior can be corrected, just as their backsliding ways and unmanageable demeanor. Acting as incorrigible rebels, such disorderly boys intentionally act out of line, lacking self-control. Some unruly teens can become angry and hostile, making trouble for both them and their family. Seeking help for your wayward, noncompliant teenager can be a difficult decision, but the sooner their contentious and insubordinate behavior and transgressions can be curbed, the less lifelong damage will be done. Insolent teens who will not mind their parents and misbehave will be changed here. Wild, undisciplined teenage behavior will become respectful and thoughtful behaviors, and bad-tempered teens will become productive members of society, no matter how far they have gone astray.
